They allege a Counterclaim filed by the Board threatens to shut down Stadium’s other gambling sites in Pennsylvania. The Stadium Group also challenging the Gaming Control Board in Court over jurisdiction issues.
In Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, in their latest filing in May, the Stadium Casino Group again reaffirming they believe SC Gaming, headed by former Penn State Trustee Ira Lubert violated financing rules tied to license bidding process - which Lubert denies. Challenging the decision is the Stadium Casino Group, who lost out to SC Gaming in the 2020 license bidding process, and the Gaming Commission itself. There’s SC Gaming, who won license approval back in January for a Casino from the State’s Gaming Control Board. The proposed Casino at the former Macy’s store site in the Nittany Mall remains mired in a three ring legal circus. It does not appear that there’s going to be a quick resolution to the dispute. Since then, those plans are still tied up in a series of Court suits.
More than six months ago, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board gave the “Green Light” for plans to move ahead with a new Casino in Centre County.
